For the last couple of months, I've been constantly asked what's next? To be honest, for the longest time that has been a question that terrifies me, and, to this day it still does. Is it wrong to say that I do not know what's next? I do not have it all together, and I certainly would not want to. As a recent college graduate, I find myself having to me make "real" life decisions... find a job, an apartment, pay my student loans. All revolving around things I HAVE to do, but what about what I want do? What about embracing the moment? The NOW... It really isn't about responsibility or a certain type of personality, taking a moment to experience life day by day is a life decision that interests me more. How do people feel inspired to conquer and achieve material things, but forget to enjoy the beauty of life? A late afternoon walk around the park or the invigorating smell of coffee. Life doesn't have to be complicated, it is us humans that choose to make it that way. A good friend once told me that it's not whether you know what you want or not, or whether you have a plan, but whether this aligns with the social norms that makes it acceptable to others. This idea of a "perfect plan" refrains us from living in the present. So here's the plan: I'll finish up my oatmeal, get a second cup of coffee, and go from there.
Wherever in your life you may be, let's remember that we are called to live a life with purpose, and while it may seem difficult to avoid getting caught up with our daily chores, let's not take for granted the gift of life. #YOLO #DOITRIGHT
"It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone". Ephesians 1:11-12
