Oatmeal & Berry Smoothie With Christmas around the corner, I wanted to create a recipe for a smoothie that would be not only be delicious, but would also keep you full and energized as you cook your day away. This smoothie contains a mix of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, coconut oil, almond milk, flax seeds, maple syrup as sweetener, and oatmeal. These ingredients are the perfect combination of everything you need for a busy day. Berries are powerful antioxidants, while coconut oil is helpful in boosting energy and lowering cholesterol (plus 100 more benefits), maple syrup is packed with vitamins, and the flax seeds and oatmeal will give you plenty of fiber to keep you full and going. I'm the kind of person that puts lemon on EVERYTHING and believe me when I say everything...you name it, and there will be lemon in it. As a kid I used to eat an entire lemon, at least once a day, and if my parents would've had a lemon tree they probably would've saved a LOT of money. A lemon is about $0.50 cents multiply that by 365 days times 24 years, that's $4,830 dollars spent on lemons alone! Anyways, this post is not about me, it's about LEMONS and why they are so good for you!

It has digestive properties that help with heartburn and bloating by helping the digestive tract to loosen up toxins. 3. It helps to curb hunger cravings since it contains pectin fiber which ultimately can result in weight loss! 4. Lemons are full of antioxidants that help fight free-radicals. 5. Lemons help the body flush out toxins which results in healthier and more glowing skin, as well as resulting in liver detoxification. Now, I'm sure you are wondering what is the best way to use lemon.. I personally love to buy essential oils since they contain the purest form of lemon oil in a very concentrated form. I add 1 drop to my glass water bottle and go about my day. Drinking lemon water throughout the day keeps me energized and helps to curb my cravings. Another great way to use lemon is to drink it first thing in the morning with warm/hot water. This helps to detoxify your liver by flushing out toxins thus helping with weight loss.
